FAQs

Everything you need to know before we begin. Clear answers for a seamless transformation
Who is eligible to build a Laneway House?
Generally, properties that have a public laneway at the rear or side of the lot are eligible, pending local zoning.
Do I have to keep a parking spot?
While some bylaws allow for the removal of parking, many homeowners choose to keep a garage on the ground floor.
How do you handle sewage for a Laneway House?
We typically install a sewage ejector pump and run a line back to the main house's connection.
Can I sell my Laneway House separately?
In most GTA municipalities, the Laneway House cannot be severed and must remain on the same title as the main house.
How long does it take to build?
Construction usually takes 6 to 9 months, depending on site access and the complexity of the design.
Are Laneway Houses expensive to build?
Because they require independent foundations and services in a tight space, the cost per square foot is higher than a standard renovation.
