This commercial project involved transforming a standard industrial plaza unit into a dynamic and functional hub for a contractor's team. The client envisioned more than just a storage space; they wanted a place where their team could come together, relax, and recharge before and after work.
Working within the constraints of a limited space, the design cleverly maximizes both functionality and a sense of openness. While the client desired to maintain open ceilings for an airy feel, the solution was to construct a mezzanine level. This created a dedicated hangout area above, while providing valuable storage space below.
A key feature of this space is the inclusion of a well-equipped kitchenette area. As seen in the photos, this includes clean, modern cabinetry, a countertop workspace, and a refrigerator, providing a convenient spot for the team to prepare meals and snacks.
The unit was further outfitted with amenities designed to enhance the well-being of the staff. A fully equipped gym, complete with a weight bench and other fitness equipment (as shown in the photos), allows team members to exercise and stay fit, while a beautiful full bathroom provides a convenient space to shower between jobs or after a workout.
Adding a finishing touch was the installation of a custom plywood storage wall, providing organized and accessible storage for tools and equipment. The photos showcase the functionality of this wall, with various tools and equipment neatly arranged and easily accessible.
